Yasir Hameed came into international cricket at a time when Pakistan were rebuilding after the early exit at the 2003 World Cup. He made his ODI debut in Sri Lanka in May 2003 and then in August, he wrote his name in the history books with two tons (170 and 105) on Test debut against Bangladesh at Karachi, thus becoming only the second batsman to dos so after a Lawrence Rowe. With an easy technique and good timing, Hameed is easy on the eye.
However, those two tons remain his only Test hundreds cricket. He did have a good run against India in the ODIs at home in early 2004, but wasn’t very consistent thereafter.
